During a live ball, a returning runner shall retouch bases in reverse order. During a dead ball, the runner may return directly to the last legally touched base.

In 10u Rec ball, watch for obstruction. I had a second baseman who would stand in the runners base path when the ball was hit and when there was a steal. This caused the runner to go around the defensive player. That is obstruction. Watch for it.

A force play is reinstated when a runner retreats back toward the last legally acquired base.
